First official portrait of Princess Charlotte to be released today

The first pictures of Princess Charlotte will be released on Twitter at 9pm tonight. In a refreshing break from tradition, Kensington Palace has revealed that the four images were taken by her proud Mum, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and feature baby Charlotte and big brother Prince George, who turns two next month.

The photographs were taken by Kate around two weeks ago at the couple's home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk. The first official family snap of Prince George was also taken by a family member. The Palace released this endearing image, captured by grandad Michael Middleton on an inexpensive camera, when the tot was just a few weeks old.
