A horrifying accident in South Carolina.

A 3-year-old boy has tragically passed away after he was left inside a hot car for hours.

It is believed the toddler’s foster mum thought she had dropped him off at daycare, but he was alone in the car until that evening.

She called emergency services at 5.45 pm, but it was too late. When they arrived at their home in South Carolina, the young boy had already passed away.

Both the foster mum and paramedics attempted to revive the boy, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

She told authorities that all of her children were in the SUV that morning, but she dropped them all at day care before continuing on with her day. Little did she know her 3-year-old never left the car.

The coroner has stated that his death was heat-related. Temperatures had reached 92 degrees that day, but inside the car would’ve been far hotter.

According to ABC News, the death has been ruled as accidental. The boy’s birth mother has been contacted and the investigation is continuing.

Authorities hope this harrowing story will help raise awareness about hot car deaths.

Forgetting a child in a car tragically happens to plenty of caring and attentive parents. Though it’s easy to judge, it’s more important to learn how it happens and how to prevent it.
