‘She fought a courageous fight’ – Actor Kelly Preston dies aged 57 from breast cancer

Tributes are pouring in for Kelly Preston.

Kelly Preston, actor and wife of John Travolta, has died aged 57 following a two-year battle with breast cancer.  Her husband revealed the news in an Instagram post saying;

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer, she fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.”

The American actress and model appeared in dozens of movies throughout her decades long career, including 'Jerry Maguire' and 'Twins'. Preston and Travolta met in 1987 on the set of the 'The Experts', they married in 1991 and had three children together. Their son, Jett, passed away in 2009 while the family were in the Bahamas. Jett had a long history of seizures and this death was attributed to that. Across the entertainment world there's a sense of shock at Kelly's passing at such a young age;

Kelly Preston. Can’t remember where, but, met first in late ‘92 I think. Such a lovely person. In 1995 we auditioned together for Breaking Up, Salma Hayek got that gig. I havent seen her much, but when I did, she was always the same sparkly eyed gem. Love to her family. R.I.P
