Introducing the ‘four gift’ rule that parents are swearing by for Christmas.

The lead up to Christmas can be hectic, stressful and just seems to fly by – seriously, where is the time going?

It only gets more hectic when it comes time to figure out what to get everyone for the holidays; especially when your little one could have anything from a unicorn to the latest gadgets and gizmos on their list to Santa.

But parents are swearing by the ‘four gift’ rule this holiday season – and yeah, we definitely see their point.

According to Kidspotone mum turned to Facebook on advice on what to get her four children – who are aged one, two, six and nine – for the holidays.

And other parents were quick to suggest implementing the ‘four gift’ rule.

“We’re going to do that this year. Trying to have a more minimalist Christmas with quality over quantity,” a mum commented.

“Yes we have done that for the past 3 years, I love it. We also add one gift from Santa,” one person said.

In case you’re not familiar with the ‘four gift’ rule, here’s everything that you need to know.

The idea behind the ‘rule’ is to prevent unnecessary spending, and to save time wondering what to get your little one (or whoever you’re purchasing the gift for).

As for what the gifts are? Something they want; something they need; something they read; something they wear (or somewhere to go, or something to give).
