Mayo GAA star Aidan O'Shea and his wife, Kristin McKenzie Vass, have announced the birth of their first child and have revealed the adorable name.

Kristin took to Instagram to share the happy news.

The pair welcomed a baby girl to the world and have chosen a rare, yet absolutely adorable name for their newest addition to the family.

The couple have named their little one 'Romee'. The name is of Latin origin and has connotations of strength and leadership.

Kristin announced the news yesterday (Tuesday, January 6), captioning the post: "Our best surprise yet."

People were quick to flood the comments with heartfelt messages, wishing the family well.

Kristin announced her pregnancy news back in July, while they were on a romantic getaway holiday to Crete.
