The woman was on a morning walk in Drogheda when a man attacked her.
Gardaí in Drogheda, Co. Louth have launched an investigation after a woman was attacked in broad daylight.
The woman was walking in Old Bridge, Drogheda when a man attacked her.
The incident took place at around 8 am on Tuesday, April 19th.
Thankfully, the woman was not seriously injured but is understandably shaken after the attack.
Gardaí told The Irish Mirror that they are currently investigating the attack.
However, they have yet to make any arrests.
Gardaí stressed that investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Gardaí has asked for witnesses to come forward.
“Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault that occurred at Old Bridge, Drogheda on the morning of Tuesday 19th April 2022 at approximately 8 a.m.
“The incident of an alleged assault on a female woman is currently under investigation.”
We’re wishing the woman a speedy recovery both mentally and physically.
Women should be able to go on a walk without fearing for their safety.
