An Garda Síochána have issued a warning ahead of Storm Hannah

Three weather warnings are now in place in Ireland as Storm Hannah is heading our way. A new status orange wind warning was issued early this morning for Tipperary and Waterford, while another status orange wind warning has been put into place for Cork, Clare, Kerry and Limerick. To add to that, a status yellow wind warning was issued for 16 counties: Connacht, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Donegal, Tipperary and Waterford. In light of the warnings, Gardaí have issued a warning, asking people to be careful if out in the bad weather.

Gardaí are appealing to the public to be extra cautious as severe winds are forecast this evening, Friday 26th April, 2019. Status Orange Wind Warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick is in place from 4:00pm today, Friday 26th April 2019 until 5:00am tomorrow morning, Saturday 27th April, 2019. Gusts of 110 to 130 km/h are expected. Status Orange Wind Warning for Tipperary and Waterford is also in place from 10:00pm tonight, until 2:00am tomorrow morning, Saturday. Gusts of 110 to 120km/h are expected. Cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians should be aware of the danger posed by high winds as they are particularly vulnerable. Drivers of high sided vehicles should take all necessary precautions and pay attention to the warnings. We ask people living near coastal, cliff and waterway areas, particularly those with children, to be extra cautious considering the gusty winds forecast.
