Gardaí Continue To Hunt Hooded Attacker Who Assaulted Woman

Residents in the County Dublin town of Swords are on high alert today as Gardaí continue to hunt a man who assaulted a woman as she was on her way to work on Sunday morning. 

The woman, who is in her 30s, was walking near the Seatown Roundabout at approximately 7am when she was assaulted by a man wearing a grey hoodie.

She received minor injuries during the incident but is said to be “very shaken.”

According to The Independent, Gardaí are not yet clear if the motivation for the attack was robbery or sexual assault.

CCTV footage had been obtained from the area and is due to be reviewed.

A spokesman said: “Gardaí would like anyone who was in the area of the R132, particularly between Balheary Road and Seatown Roundabout this morning to contact them at Swords garda station on 01 666 4700.”
