Gardaí investigate after cult bleach ‘cure’ is used on autistic children

Miracle Mineral Supplement is a toxic solution of 28% sodium chlorite in distilled water

A nurse and a dentist are among those being questioned by Gardaí after a number of autistic children were given a controversial bleach ‘cure’.

Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS), is little more than an industrial strength bleach peddled in Ireland by a cult called The Genesis II Church of Health and Healing, led by former Scientologist Jim Humble.

High oral doses can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration.

Cult members believe MMS can be used to treat multiple unrelated diseases, including HIV, hepatitis, the H1N1 flu virus, common colds, acne, cancer, and other conditions, despite a complete lack of clinical research.

The investigation, which has included a number of seizures and property searches, was initiated by the Health Products Regulatory Authority.
