Gardaí Investigating After Baby Found Dead in Kerry

Gardaí in Killarney are investigating after an 11-month-old baby boy was found dead at the Park Place apartment complex on Upper Highstreet in the town. The alarm was raised by the child's mother just before 6pm but despite the work of the emergency services team and a local doctor, who rushed to the house, the infant was pronounced dead at the scene. It is understood a man in his thirties also suffered serious injuries at the scene, which is reportedly the home of a Polish family, and has been brought to University Hospital Kerry. The child's body will remain at the apartment today until a preliminary examination is carried out by the Assistant State Pathologist Margaret Bolster this evening.
