Gardaí Investigating After Boy (13) Allegedly Sexually Assaulted At School

An investigation is underway at a private school in Dublin amid allegations a boy was sexually assaulted by other children.
The alleged victim, believed to be 13 years of age, is claiming to have been attacked with a hockey stick and sexually assaulted by up to eight pupils.

The Gardaí and Tusla, the child and family agency, are investigating the incident, which happened on Thursday of last week. The school first reported the incident on Tuesday, November 29th.

According to The Irish Times, eight pupils have been suspended while the Gardaí conduct their investigation. On the recommendation of his parents, the alleged victim of the crime has remained at school.

The board of the school, comprising 23 members, is due to meet to discuss the matter. The Principal of the school confirmed an investigation is underway but has not released a statement.
