Their remains were discovered on Wednesday.

Gardaí are appealing for information following the unexplained deaths of a mother and her two children in Dublin.

37-year-old Seema Banu, 11-year-old Asfira Syed, and six-year-old Faizan Syed were found dead in a house in Llywellen Court, Ballinteer before midday on Wednesday.

Gardaí are appealing to anybody with information relating to the deaths to contact the investigation team at Dundrum Garda Station on 01-6665600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Gardaí have also asked the public not to share “social media speculation, which is uninformed and unhelpful to the criminal investigation.”

RTÉ News reports that the family had lived in the south Dublin estate for approximately one year. They are understood to have moved to Ireland from India some years ago.

A candlelight vigil was held in the estate on Wednesday night in memory of the family. Banu’s partner and the father of the children has been in contact with Gardaí. He is said to be in a distressed state and is receiving medical treatment.

Postmortems on the deceased are expected to be completed today. The results will determine the course of the investigation.
