Gardai have raided several properties on the hunt for the killer of murdered dad

Melissa Carton

The father was murdered earlier this month.

Gardai have raided seven properties as they investigate the murder of Mikolaj Wilk.

The 36 year old dad was found dead outside Ballincollig, Cork on June 10.

A number of vehicles, which were seized, have also been forensically examined in an effort to determine who murdered the young dad.

The father of two was hacked to death in front of his wife and children.

His wife, Elzibeta was also attacked during the ordeal and sustained injuries to her hand when she raised her arm to protect her young children from a machete.

She also suffered head and facial injuries.

The getaway car was found burned out in the Waterfall area but those involved in the attack have still not been found.

The horrific nature of the murder baffles authorities who are unsure why anyone would want to harm Mr Wilk and his family.

Detectives have been looking through CCTV footage of the area and the victim’s phone records in the hope that they may find a clue to who committed this atrocious crime.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Gurranabraher Gardai at (021)494-6200

Mr Wilk’s remains will be repatriated to Poland for burial within the next few days.
