A toddler has gone missing after her dad allegedly made her stand outside for not finishing her milk.

Sherin Mathews, 3, has not been seen since around 3am on Saturday October 7.

Police in the area of Richardson, Texas, fear the young girl may have been abducted and had issued an Amber Alert, before discontinuing it on Monday afternoon local time.

Cops have since arrested her father Wesley Mathews over the incident.

A statement from the Richardson Police Department said the 37-year-old has been shared with Abandoning or Endangering a Child.

According to local news outlet WFAA, he told police that he took his daughter outside at 3am on Saturday for a punishment.

He told cops that after Sherin refused to drink her milk, he made her stand outside near a large tree in the backyard – but when he went outside 15 minutes later, the three-year-old was gone.

Mathews added that coyotes had been spotted in the alleyway where he left his daughter.

Sgt Kevin Perlich said that police were not called to the home until around five hours after the young girl was last seen.

Sherin is described as being 36″ tall and weighing about 22 pounds.

The young girl was wearing a pink top, black pyjama bottoms and pink flip flops.

According to police, she has developmental issues and limited verbal communication skills.
