Good news for Corrie fans as producers discuss MAJOR changes

Laura Holland

Good news for fans of the show.

Last year it was revealed that Coronation Street would be moving to a six-day schedule later this year.

Currently, the show airs twice on a Monday, once on a Wednesday and twice on a Friday and now sometime in the week there will be one more episode.

When it’s going to happen and on what day we still don’t know, but the show bosses have given some more details on what we can expect from that extra episode.

According to Broadcast Now, executive producer Kieran Roberts has said that they will be using the extra episode to give an insight into the lesser known characters on the cobbles and also to introduce more comedy to the show.

There will be new storylines that will retain the intimacy of the show. The new episode will also create 40 jobs for crew and writers.

Not only that, there are going to be some new buildings added to the set with a police station, a school and a court being built.

Big changes on the street it seems.
