Tiffany said she was first alerted to the book's contents when her daughter exclaimed:
“I don’t even know what this means."In response to their daughter's questions, he asked his wife:
"Did your mom get this as a joke? Is this a serious book?”
The book, If Animals Could Talk by Carla Butwin and Josh Cassidy, features a number of adorable illustrations of polar bears, kangaroos and chicks.
But it turns out what some of the critters actually say is definitely not for a younger audience.
Tiffany shared some photos from the book on Twitter, and people instantly found the innocent mistake hilarious.
She wrote:
"I'm dying. "My mom bought this book for my 6 year old and I just called to ask if she had actually opened the book. She hadn't."She later added a series of other pages from the small book. https://twitter.com/Tiffany1985B/status/915409184597745665 https://twitter.com/Tiffany1985B/status/915408778211631104 The original tweet, which was posted on Wednesday evening, has already gotten an impressive 39,000 retweets and more than 100,000 likes. And plenty of people were quick to comment on the grandmother's choice of novel. One person said:
"OMG please let this be available as an Audible book by Samuel L. Jackson."Meanwhile, a different person laughed:
"That's the best Grandma Foul ever."But another simply asked:
"I only have 1 question: Did the kangaroo ever find her keys?"Images via Tiffany/Twitter.
