Heavy wintry showers predicted for today

You might be hitting the shops this afternoon to start your Christmas shopping or perhaps you’re taking the kids out for the day. Whatever your plans, you will definitely need a few extra layers. That’s because it’s freezing outside! (We’ve already been out, take our word for it.) According to Met Éireann, there will be heavy wintry showers in areas across the country this morning. Via imgur.com As the day progresses, patches of cloud will bring scattered rain showers. Overall, it will be windy and cold with highest temperatures between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius. Tonight will see temperatures drop further (so make sure to have the fire going and plenty of tea at hand) but tomorrow will bring slightly milder conditions with some sunny spells. We think it’s safe to say winter has well and truly arrived. AA Roadwatch is advising motorists to take extra care on the roads which could be icy.
