Stephanie, who stood by the side and gave the baby CPR while Davitt tried to rescue the others, is now seeking an undisclosed sum for loss of earnings and other costs.
However, Davitt has now spoken to the Daily Mail, telling them that he wants nothing to do with his ex-girlfriend, and just wants to move on with his life.
"I did my bit. I saved a child. I risked my life and nearly died. It was a miracle that I came out alive," he said.
"I am struggling to move on. Jesus, how would you feel if you saw five people die? It is not nice. I get nightmares and I am struggling."
In 2016, Davitt was rewarded for his bravery in saving the four-month-old baby, Rioghnach-Ann, and was honoured with the Michael Heffernan award. In the few months after Davitt saved Rioghnach-Ann, he took part in the Belfast Marathon with the mother and wife of the victims, Louise. He was also given a guard of honour when he returned to football with Fanad United.Interview with Davitt Walsh, who saved baby Rionaghac-Ann in yesterday’s tragedy in Buncrana https://t.co/a228dN4yDu
