The Hottest Spot in Ireland Yesterday Was Revealed (And We’re Kinda Glad We Weren’t There!)

So hot.

Laura Holland

Yesterday saw temperatures rise to the late 20’s in some areas and today is forecast to be hotter still. Can’t cope.

It was a welcome change to the weather but it didn’t stop people complaining about being too hot. We all love the sun but trying to function in this heat is next to impossible. When the good weather comes, we’re never ready for it and right when we finally will get used to it, BAM it usually starts lashing rain again.

Met Eireann has forecast that today will see highest temperatures of 24 to 29 degrees, warmest in the midlands and Connacht, but what about yesterday?

Even though most of the country was roasting, which county was the hottest? Thanks to BBC weatherman Barra Best we’ve found out.

County Roscommon was the hottest with highs of 27.3 degrees recorded in Mount Dillon.

The outlook for the rest of the week is fairly changeable with sunny spells expected today and tomorrow but rain will develop on Thursday, spreading across the country through the afternoon. Friday will be mainly dry though.
