Two children have sadly passed away after they were rescued from a house fire in Preston.

The children, a girl aged 3 and a boy aged 5, died four days after the blaze.

They were carried out of the burning building by firefighters.

The incident took place at a house on Coronation Crescent at 8 pm on April 8th.

The young kids passed away on Tuesday, April 12th after their medical intervention was withdrawn.

They were rushed to hospital, but despite the doctor’s best efforts, they were pronounced dead.

A cause has yet to be determined.

Detective Rach Higson paid tribute to the young children.

“This tragic incident has resulted in two children sadly losing their lives and my thoughts, first and foremost, are with their loved ones at this time.”

Police investigations are ongoing.

Police arrested a man in his 20s in connection with arson, but he was later released.

After the blaze broke out, firefighters rushed to put stop the blaze. It is believed there were multiple people trapped inside when the fire broke out.

The deceased children’s mother was in the house, but luckily she managed to escape.

It is understood that she has suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Our hearts are with the children’s mum and loved ones during this unthinkable time.
