The Greatest Showman actor has been married to his wife since 1996, but that hasn’t stopped rumours about his sexuality from spreading.
Many people claim the actor is gay, but his wife said if he was then he wouldn’t hide it.
She said, “Hugh’s been gay for whatever, I mean, hello guys – if he was gay, he could be gay!”
“He didn’t have to hide in the closet anymore, and he’d be dating Brad Pitt, or whatever. Not that Brad’s gay, but you know what I’m saying!”
Deborra-Lee spoke out about the rumours on the Not An Overnight Success podcast.
She added, “It’s so silly, and then people perpetuate silly things and it’s boring.”

The Wolverine star recently celebrated his 26th wedding anniversary.
Alongside a photo of him and Deborra, Hugh penned a moving tribute.
“Today I celebrate 26 years of marriage to my extraordinary wife.
“Every single day is filled with so much laughter, joy and backgammon!!!!”
He added, “Deb you light up my life. I love you with all my heart!”
The 53-year-old said Deb means the world to him.
“Deb, you are everything to me. I love you.”
The couple met when they were both working on the Australian TV show Correlli in 1995.
They tied the knot less than a year later in April 1996.
After his wife suffered two miscarriages, Hugh and Deborra adopted two children- son Oscar and daughter Ava.
