On Wednesday, hundreds of people will gather outside the Dáil, Wednesday 6th Oct at 1pm to call on Health Minister Stephen Donnelly to honour his commitment to end partner restrictions in maternity care.
In the last year and a half many have voiced their outrage regarding mothers having to attend hospitals appointments, especially sensitive ones, and having to give birth with no birthing partner.
A long scroll will be unrolled and held up by women politicians and members of the #BetterMaternityCare campaign group, extending from the Dáil gates towards the plint.
The scroll will contain hundreds of stories of people’s experience of being pregnant and giving birth during Covid19. There will be large A2 posters with a message to Stephen Donnelly clearly displayed.
The #BetterMaternityCare campaign, supported by Uplift, is calling for the Health Minister to meet with us to discuss the ongoing impacts of the restrictions and his commitment to end the exclusion of partners from full labour and emergency care.
The March For Maternity protest will take place outside Leinster House, Kildare St, Dublin 1, tomorrow Wednesday, Oct 6th between 1 to 2pm.
