Food businesses need to ensure that their premises has the right food safety management procedures in place to ensure pest control at all times."The FSAI also added that during the Christmas period, food businesses need to ensure they can cope with extra customers and the food safety risks that come with them.
"For example: poor hygiene in food premises; inadequate refrigeration; inadequate cooking or re-heating; cross-contamination from raw to cooked food; contaminated raw ingredients; inadequately trained or supervised staff.”Two other premises were also closed last month due to rodent infestations. The canteen operated by Get Fresh in Beaufort College, Trim Road, Navan, Co. Meath and AD Cash and Carry in St. James Industrial Park, Kylemore Way, Inchicore, Dublin 8 were also closed.
