Influencer Miriam Mullins trolled badly by men over new radio job

The same men who post about International Women’s Day..

TikTok star Miriam Mullins announced her exciting new radio presenting role on Cork’s RedFM in February and has since had to compete with negative comments flying in on social media.

She addressed the trolling on her Instagram story yesterday while away skiing in France with boyfriend Tian Heyns.

She wrote: “It’s the same men sharing international women’s day posts for their girlfriends and wives are the same men commenting horrible stuff under RedFM’s post about me starting on radio.

“You don’t know how hard I worked to get to where I am just because I have a couple of followers. Who give a crap?

“Not one woman has commented something nasty!

“Just shows misogyny and jealousy towards women doing well is still a thing. Men need to get a grip and cop on. Shit like this could really tip someone over the edge.

“I have a degree for anyone commenting and I’ve worked hard to get to where I am.

“Thank you to anyone who has left a nice comment I really appreciate it!”

Miriam has had to deal with very harsh, negative comments made about her starting the new job.

But, thankfully her 2 million TikTok followers and her 122 thousand Instagram followers have been sending her sweet messages of encouragement.

She came on her Instagram stories last night chatting about why she felt she had to address the situation.

She said: “Unfortunately I’ve had to learn to build up a very thick skin and not care about what people think and that is why I’m genuinely okay, I’m grand.

“It’s just very upsetting that theres people sitting typing crap and being very nasty to people they don’t even know. You don’t know how that can effect someone.

“I’m lucky that I have such a thick exterior and for me, it’s out of sight out of mind, I don’t look at comments but unfortunately today it did come up on my for you page and I did look.

“I’m so lucky because I have my dad my boyfriend who are amazing and supportive men in my life.

“They are so good to me but it makes me sad that there are still men out there that are misogyny that don’t like to see women doing well and being more successful than some men.

“I think all women are amazing. Some are at home minding kids working so hard and others are going out getting a good job.

“It baffles me that some men are at home sitting on TikTok and commenting about other women. Get out of your house Johnny, go milk your cows and go sheer your sheep and cop on.”

Miriam will no doubt ace her new radio gig and we are so excited for her.
