Sure, we are all loving on Instagram these days (the interior inspo, the puppy pics, the smoothie bowls!), but how far would you go to show you love for the social medium?
Well, it will seem – to some – pretty freakin’ far. Like, how about naming your children after Instagram filters?!
We are not even joking about this one. When BabyCenter recently released its annual Baby Names Survey and the Top 100 Baby Names of 2015, we couldn’t help but noticing a few well-known ehm, names, popping up.
Sure the Sophie’s and Sophia’s took the top spot, but lurking further down on the list were names like Lux, Ludwig, Amaro, Reyes, Hudson, and Kelvin (for boys) and Valencia, Juno, and Willow (for girls).
Sounds familiar? They are well-known photograph filters on social media!
You have probably used the above to prettify many a picture before pressing “publish”. We know we sure have.
“This is the first time we’ve seen technology break through as a source of name inspiration,” Linda Murray, editor in chief of BabyCenter, said in an announcement. “Photo-sharing is a daily and emotional part of Millennials’ lives, and those two ingredients can trigger love for a name.”
Well, excuse us while we go feed little Crema. Or Moon, maybe…
