Instagram account celebrating breast cancer survivors gets reinstated

We can understand why Instagram disables certain accounts with inappropriate images but this latest story just isn’t right.

The Pink Ink Fund is a charity which provides information and funds for breast cancer survivors who are interested in getting Mastectomy tattoos.

On the Instagram account, founder and tattoo artist Amy Black shares photographs of and the stories behind such inkings.

Earlier this month Instagram shut down the account, allegedly because the images were deemed “sexually suggestive” and contained nudity.

However, after an outpouring of support for the organisation from the public and media giant Buzzfeed, the account has been reinstated.

“We are a charity made to give financial aid to those who need it for their mastectomy tattoos due to breast cancer/brca diagnosis. Thank you for everyones support as we struggled to find our feet and figure out what to do!!!
