Investigation launched after girl allegedly raped after night out in Leitrim

Gardaí are investigating reports a teenage girl was raped by two men after a night out at a disco.

The alleged incident took place on Friday, July 28, after a teenage disco in Co Leitrim.

The girl alleges that she was attacked by two young men after she left the Cartown venue.

The Irish Daily Star reports that the girl told a friend and the concerned pal told her own mother.

The worried mum got in contact with Gardaí, who then launched a full investigation.

A garda spokesman confirmed to Her that investigations are ongoing.

They said: “Gardaí are investigating the alleged assault of a female which occurred on the 28th July 2017 at Cartown, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
