Ireland Baldwin has been praised for bravely speaking out about how she was raped as a teenager.

Following the Roe v Wade ruling, the 26-year-old told the public about her own harrowing experience.

She explained that she was inspired by the ‘brave’ women who have been sharing their own personal stories for years.

Ireland shared, “I am only now sharing my story because I want other women to feel supported and loved, whether they want to share their own story or not.”

“I was raped when I was a teenager, and I was completely unconscious when it happened, and it changed the course of the rest of my life.”

Ireland explained that she never told anyone at the time, not for years.

The only person who knew was the nurse that treated her at the time.

She said she couldn’t help but think about what would happen if she had become pregnant after the attack.

“Seeing so many other brave women share their stories, got me thinking about what my life would have been like if I had become pregnant, and if I had to raise a baby during everything I was going through at the time.”

“I chose me, and I would choose me again. It’s your life, it’s your choice.”

“Mind you, I have medical resources, money, and support that a lot of women do not have access to. It would have simply been traumatising and impossible.”

She then went on to share that she has previously had an abortion.

She said she was in a relationship at the time, but it was unhealthy and she wasn’t happy.

“I chose to get an abortion because I know exactly what it felt like to be born between two people who hated each other.”

“I chose me, and I would choose me again. It’s your life, it’s your choice.”

The model’s followers praised her for being so honest and brave.

One thanked her for sharing such harrowing experiences with her audience because it will help others feel less alone.
