Ireland set to be warmer than Barcelona, Lanzarote, and Athens this weekend

Mind your Easter Eggs don’t melt!

Met Éireann aren’t explicitly saying we should break out the shorts, but they might as well be with their prediction for how the weekend is looking!

On Good Friday, we should expect parts of the country to get as high as 20 degrees, while Easter Saturday will go one better (literally), as parts of Ireland are expected to reach 21 degrees. Sunday won’t be quite as nice, but still nicer than it has been recently, with temperatures reaching 17 degrees.

Comparatively, AccuWeather are predicting the following temperatures for the following usually-much-warmer-than-us European destinations:

Barcelona: Friday – 17 degrees, Saturday – 19 degrees, Sunday – 18 degrees

Athens: Friday – 17 degrees, Saturday – 16 degrees, Sunday – 18 degrees

Lanzarote: Friday – 19 degrees, Saturday – 20 degrees, Sunday – 20 degrees.

Ibiza: Friday – 17 degrees, Saturday – 18 degrees, Sunday – 18 degrees.

Now, all that being said, we should also prepare for the temperatures to absolutely plummet again on Monday, as we’re warned that “it looks like our weather will become much colder and unsettled from Easter Monday onwards with rain or showers at times and with temperatures dropping back to around 10 or 11 degrees.”
