Cork Airport has been named the second ‘happiest’ in the world.

The results, which have been revealed by Happy or Not, are based on how happy people are with the following areas; Security, Arrivals, Check-In, Washrooms and Baggage Reclaim.

Cork narrowly missed out on the top spot, with Exeter in the UK taking that position. Cork also tied with Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino in Rome, who got the exact same percentage in the results.

The results are based on the Smiley Feedback system used in various terminals. 158 million data points, in 160 airports, were analysed between November 2016 and November 2017.

A happy passenger is as a result of a collaborative effort from the entire Cork Airport team, from the moment a passenger enters the terminal to when they depart.

The findings of the Airport Report will also prove invaluable in terms of developing our already superb and consistent customer service and state of the art facilities here in Cork Airport.”
