ISPCA issue advice to pet owners ahead of the heatwave

Temperatures are going to continue to climb over the next few days.

The ISPCA has shared advice to pet owners on how to keep their four-legged friends safe during the heatwave. Temperatures are continuing to climb this weekend, reaching as high as 25C in some areas of the country. And the animal welfare charity encouraged people to keep an eye out for their dogs and cats as the weather continues to heat up. They wrote on Twitter:

"Temperatures could reach 28 degrees this weekend. "The ISPCA would like to remind pet owners that leaving their dogs in the car in hot weather can be fatal in minutes, even with the windows down. "Please remember to give your pet fresh water and access to shade!"

Temperatures will hit as high as 25C in some areas of the country on Sunday. And, according to forecasters, it will continue to be dry and mostly sunny throughout all of next week. Temperatures will remain in the low-to-mid-twenties on Monday and Tuesday, before reaching mid-to-high 20s for the rest of the week.
