He said they were some of the best episodes the soap has ever filmed.

Danny Dyer has teased that the identity of the EastEnders character who dies in the 35th anniversary episodes was a “real shock.”

The long-running soap is set to celebrate a huge milestone next month as they mark their 35th anniversary – and will be killing off a major character in a week of can’t-miss episodes.

Mick and Linda Carter decide to throw a party on a boat after winning a major contest. But the celebration turns to chaos as one character falls off the vessel and drowning.

The characters who are said to be at risk include Sharon Mitchell, Mick Carter and Ian Beale. The episodes will focus on the 24 hours as the guests board the party boat.

“It was a real shock to everyone, honestly,” Dyer told RadioTimes at the NTAs, as he discussed the scenes.

“It’s really powerful stuff, and we’re trying to get a message across, and sometimes when you do that, you’ve really got to go full throttle with it.”

The news comes as Jasmine Armfield has announced she is leaving the soap after five years.

The actress plays Bex Fowler, Sonia Jackson and Martin Fowler’s daughter. According to The Sun, she has already filmed her final scenes – which are set to play out next month.
