The comedian said the idea of hosting the show "fills me in equal measure with fear and excitement, adding:
“I was so honoured Graham asked me to do this for him. The thought of stepping into his huge showbiz boots fills me in equal measure with fear and excitement. “Worst case, I will make everyone appreciate just how lucky we are to have him.”
Graham reckons Jack "is bound to do an amazing job" - although he also assured fans that he would be back after Eurovision.
He said:
Guests for the one-off episode include Luke Evans, Paloma Faith and Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie. The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest is due to kick off on May 14 in Tel Aviv, where Ireland will be represented by Sarah McTernan. The 24-year-old, who came third in The Voice of Ireland in 2015, will be performing a catchy song called 22 in this year's competition. She will compete in the second Eurovision Semi Final in Tel Aviv on Thursday May 16."I'm thrilled to know that I am leaving the show in Jack's capable hands. He is bound to do an amazing job.
"I should warn him not to get too comfortable in my chair, though, because like a slightly fey terminator, I'll be back!"
