Usually, James McAvoy tends to keep his relationship out of the limelight and likes to keep the details very much under wraps, other than the odd Instagram post or two.
And after three years of fan suspicion, the Scottish actor has finally given more details on his relationship with Lisa Liberati and it turns out they secretly got married.
Briefly mentioning her in an interview with The Guardian, he opened up about Lisa, speaking about her hometown of Philadelphia.
James said that he’s now an “honorary Philadelphian”, with the city now “like a second home” for him.
James met Lisa on the set of Split when Lisa was director M Night Shyamalan’s personal assistant and have been linked since 2018.
First confirming their relationship, James posted a selfie on Instagram of the pair in 2018, saying: “happy birthday beautiful.”
Before meeting Lisa, James was married to actress Anne-Marie Duff for 11 years before they split in 2016, they share one son Brendan together.

Rumours started to swarm the internet that the pair had gotten married back in 2019 when the director Jamie Lloyd, who is good friends with James, was overheard referring to Lisa as James’ wife.
The news about James’ second marriage comes in after only six years since his divorce from Anne-Marie was finalised.
Opening up about their separation in an interview with The Times back in 2018, James’ ex-wife Anne Marie said: “Divorce is a profound, difficult experience. It’s a bit like you go to bed and you wake up holding hands in a hurricane. And nobody gave you any storm warnings.”
The pair had met on the set of Shameless back in 2003 when Anne Marie played the role of Fiona while James played her love interest Steve.
