Jools Oliver has opened up about suffering a miscarriage for the first time, saying the loss made it ‘impossible’ to enjoy early pregnancy again because of the associated anxiety.
The proud mama of five (41), gave birth to a baby boy, River Rocket, six months ago, and both Jools and her TV chef husband Jamie shared pictures of their brand new bundle on Instagram, but behind the scenes, the couple faced their own private struggles.
Sharing her heartbreaking loss, the mum-of-five told Mail Online:
‘I had a miscarriage at three months, which makes you so worried once you are pregnant again — it makes it impossible to enjoy the early stages of pregnancy,’
Happily, the designer, who was speaking at the launch of her latest Little Bird Clothing Collection at Mothercare, has not ruled adding another member to her family, which includes Poppy Honey (14), Daisy Boo (13), Petal Blossom, seven, Buddy Bear, age six, and River Rocket, six months.
Hinting there might be a number six, Jools said:
‘[River]’s six months now, so we’re past the really difficult sleepless first few months. He’s such a joy. I’m getting older, but I’d definitely do it again if I could. I think Jamie’s finished, but you just never know!’
