Josh Brolin has recently addressed his domestic violence arrest.
The Deadpool actor was arrested on spousal battery charges in 2014.
His wife at the time Diane Lane claimed he had hit her but the charges were later dropped and the couple stayed together until 2013.

He says to this day he does not know why he was arrested and that only his ex-wife has the answer to that question.
Quoted on Bang Showbiz the actor said
“God I’ve never been so careful with my words. Ever. Maybe in all 50 years. And there’s no reason for me to be, there’s no explaining it. The only person who can explain is Diane and she’s chosen not to so I’m OK with that.”

Brolin feels that he was in a bad place during the marriage and without making excuses for his past behaviour, thinks he is a much better person now.
“Whatever I say now is going to sound like compensation for a perpatraitor. I’ve gotten to a place where all that matters is that I have control over my behaviour, and at that time it was a little more chaotic.”
After his arrest, a spokesperson for the couple said that it had been a martial misunderstanding and they were both embarrassed it had been taken so far.

Brolin announced at the beginning of that month that he is expecting a baby with his new wife Kathryn.
He also has two children from his first marriage to Alice Adair.
