Corrie’s male sexual assault storyline is going to take an unexpected turn

Josh is set to return later this year.

David Platt is going to be reliving a lot of painful memories soon as rapist Josh is set to return to the cobbles.

Josh attacked David some months ago, leaving him mentally scarred as he struggled to deal with his PTSD, his trauma, and his own assertion of masculinity.

When David eventually spoke out about his attack, it seemed as if he was going to get some closure, but nothing ever came of it, Josh was freed, and he left Weatherfield.

Now, however, it has been revealed that Josh will be returning to the street later in the year. Not of his own accord though, but because David wants him back there to ensure that justice is served.

A source told The Sun:

“Josh’s return isn’t going to be anything what fans would expect.

“When he left Weatherfield he planned to leave for good, but in Corrie things don’t always go to plan and it won’t necessarily be his choice to return.

“David doesn’t want Josh to get away with what he’s done. He knows that Josh has attacked other men in the same way and he feels a responsibility to stop him from doing it again.”

Corrie producers have said previously that David would get justice for what Josh did to him. It does remain to be seen though whether the police will be involved in this justice or not.

That being said, Josh isn’t expected to return until later this year, so we’ve a while to wait yet until all of this kicks off.
