Juvenile arrested near the scene of aggravated burglary in Limerick

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary in Limerick yesterday.

A juvenile has been arrested in relation to the crime that occurred yesterday, September 22 in Shonnonvale, Limerick.

A second male believed to have been involved is still being sought by Gardaí in relation to the crime.

Shortly after 7 am, Gardaí from Mayorstone Park received a report of a burglary in progress where two men had entered the house and then armed themselves with what was believed to be a knife.

Gardaí immediately responded and on their arrival, the two males fled from the scene in the direction of Caherdavin.

An extensive search was conducted of the area and a juvenile was discovered hiding in the Shannonvale area.

The young man was arrested and brought to Henry St Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The occupant of the house was thankfully not injured during the awful ordeal.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to get in touch if they have any information regarding the crime or those involved.
