Kaley Cuoco has revealed the name of her newborn daughter, and fans are loving the sweet meaning behind her unique choice.

The 40-year-old actress, best known for playing Penny in The Big Bang Theory, announced the arrival of her second child with fiancé Tom Pelphrey on Wednesday, October 14th.

The couple welcomed their little girl on October 12th, sharing the happy news alongside a series of adorable photographs of their growing family.

Taking to Instagram, Kaley revealed that they had named their daughter Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey, affectionately nicknamed Philo.

"There are no words to describe this feeling once again. What a blessing," she wrote.

"We are so grateful for the crazy wild up and down journey that brought us to our little Philo!"

The actress also confirmed that their family was now "officially complete" and joked that it was time to bring her eldest daughter, Matilda, home to meet her new baby sister.

But it is the meaning behind the newborn's name that has caught people's attention.

According to parenting website The Bump, Philomena has Greek origins and is associated with meanings including "lover of strength" and "loved one".

The traditional name has a vintage feel, making it a distinctive choice for the couple's second daughter.

And it seems the name was chosen with plenty of thought, with the couple's middle-name choices also holding special family significance.

According to a source speaking to People, Carmine is a tribute to Kaley's father, while Bobby honours Tom's side of the family.

"They love classic, vintage names, so Philo was the perfect choice for them," the source said.
