It seems that this might actually be the case. According to Marie Claire, the Queen might have an influence on Kate and William's decision to steer away from PDAs. The Queen and Prince Phillip have rarely been pictured holding hands throughout their 70 years and could this have had an influence on the Cambridges? Body language expert, Myka Meier, the founder of Beaumont Ettiquette, previously discussed the subject in detail with People magazine. Myka acknowledged that while holding hands is a departure from the norm for royal couples, it isn't against royal protocol and there's no rule to say that they can't do so. She also said that Harry and Meghan's approach is "modern" and makes them relatable to their many fans.
