Children of the Eighties and Nineties are currently in a state of flux.

Yes, in a move that has much of the internet upset, Kellogg’s has now confirmed that from January, it will no longer be making Ricicles.

The cereal was a beloved treat for many of us when we were growing up, but with the company now committed to making its produce better for us, the sugar-coated rice puffs (which have 34g of sugar per 100g) are being withdrawn from shelves.

Understandably, Twitter is particularly aghast at the news with Ricicles quickly trending on Thursday afternoon.

Kellogg’s is furthermore reducing the sugar content by between 20 and 40 percent in three of its most popular cereals: Coco Pops, Rice Krispies, and Rice Krispies Multi-Grain Shapes.

Earlier this year, the company announced that it was releasing a special edition Unicorn Fruit Loops – a gem which was previously only available in the likes of Germany.

And there is even a Kellogg’s Advent calendar – which comes complete with 24 bowls of cereal.
