Kelsey Parker has opened up about how her children are dealing with their dad’s death as she approaches a year since Tom passed away.
Kelsey’s husband Tom Parker who was best known as a singer in The Wanted sadly lost his life last March to stage four glioblastoma brain cancer. Tom was only 33 years old.
Kelsey recently went on a five-day 100km charity trek in the Sahara Desert alongside Vicky Pattison, Giovanna Fletcher and Pete Wicks to raise money for breast cancer awareness and while she was there, she shared stories about raising her children with a fellow widow.
Speaking to a man who lost his wife to breast cancer, she said she believes she was put on the same team as this man for a reason and they had the time to bond over their situations.
The mum of two told OK! Magazine: “I felt like we were put on the same team for a reason because I was talking to him about where his daughter was at now.

“My kids are going to be at that stage after losing their dad and we spoke about the road ahead, like the kids going to school.”
“I can’t talk to everyone about that because they don’t know what I’ve been through or what I am going through. But he actually understood it all and how I felt. It was tough.”
Speaking in the final episode of her ITVX show Kelsey Parker: Life After Tom, Kelsey admitted it will take “years and years to get over” her guilt that she couldn’t save Tom from dying.
During a therapy session, Kelsey said while fighting back the tears: “There’s still this guilt element, which I don’t think will go away over night.
“It will take years and years to get over, the guilt that I wasn’t able to save him. But I know deep down in my heart that I did everything I could.”
