Her doctors told her the tumour was “incredibly rare” for someone her age.
Khloe Kardashian has issued a warning to fans to get checked frequently after she had a tumour removed from her face.
Responding to stories about how she is wearing a bandage on her face, the reality star explained that she had to undergo surgery after spotting a worrying lump on her cheek.
Initially, she dismissed it as a “zit”, but when it wouldn’t go away after seven months, she got it biopsied twice. Her dermatologists discovered that it was a tumour, something that is “incredibly rare” for someone Khloe’s age.
“A few days later I was told I need to have an immediate operation to remove a tumor on my face,” Khloe wrote on her Instagram story.
Thankfully, Khloe was given the all-clear and she is currently still healing from the surgery.
“I’m grateful to share that Dr. Fischer was able to get everything – all my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process,” she wrote.
Khloe explained that she’ll still wear the bandages for some time, and then she’ll likely have a scar. She also issued a warning to her followers to get their health issues checked if they have concerns.
“I am ONLY sharing this story with you so I can remind everyone to get checked, and frequently,” she said. “At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had a surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-composed to melanomas. Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time. I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day, religiously so no one is exempt from these things. Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as your annual checkups.”
She finished up by reminding her social media followers to be kind.
“Everyone you meet is fighting a battle we know nothing about. Try not to judge and be kind for you have no idea what they are going through.”
