Tributes have been pouring in for 22-year-old Lauren Padden who died in a car accident in Mayo.

Lauren Padden tragically passed away when the car she was driving left the road and entered a ditch.

There were two other passengers in the car at the time. They were also injured, but their injuries are not serious.

Lauren’s family has paid tribute to her ahead of her funeral this week.

“Lauren is predeceased by her recently deceased grandmother Ann and her aunties Maria and Collette.

“Beloved and adored daughter of Martin and Shelley and cherished sister of Dara and Paddy.”

“She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family – grandfather Paddy Padden (Shanahee, Belmullet) and grandparents Cubbie (Qubbie) and Marie Elliot (Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh), aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours, and many, many friends.”

Lauren will be laid to rest on Wednesday, February 1st.

Her funeral service is set to take place at the Church of the Holy Family, Carne, Belmullet.

Her loved ones have remembered her as someone who “always had a big smile on her face”.

Others also remembered her as being kind and caring.

One person shared, “I met Lauren during my time in Colaiste Uisce and had the pleasure of having her as one of my leaders. She was patient, kind, and happy to help anyone who was struggling.”

“Lauren was a kind and beautiful person,” another said.

One added, “We will fondly remember Lauren for the chatty, caring, down-to-earth beautiful girl she was.”

We’re keeping Lauren’s loved ones in our thoughts during this unthinkable time.
