Bring this back to store if you have one at home.

Lidl Ireland has been forced to recall their Unielektre Smoke Detector over concerns that it doesn’t ring loud enough when it detects a fire.

They are telling customers who purchased the smoke detector in 2016 and 2017 to return the product to store for a full refund. They’re even accepting returns in the event that someone doesn’t have a receipt.

The Competition and Consumer Protection website issued the update from the supermarket and said:

“Lidl Ireland are initiating a public recall for a Unielektra Smoke Detector that was sold through Lidl retail outlets during 2016 and 2017.

The risk associated with this product is that it does not alarm in a loud enough fashion or a timely manner in the event of a fire.”

They added:

“As a precautionary measure Lidl are asking consumers not to use the affected smoke detector.

The item can be returned in all Lidl Stores where a full refund will be given, even without proof of purchase.”
