So who’s got all their shopping done?

Or who is still desperately trying to fit in shopping time around Christmas fun with the kids?

There’s so much on – visiting Santa in twelve different places, going ice-skating, seeing the lights around the city, picking out your Christmas tree, decorating your Christmas tree, decorating the house, baking Christmas biscuits, the list goes on. We’re getting tired just thinking about it. In a good way though. Nothing beats some Christmas treats.

It’s definitely hard to slip in some sneaky shopping around all that – unless you know how to multitask, that is. Because there’s a perfectly simple way to kill two birds with one stone here. All you have to do is have one of the adults distract the kids with some Christmas fun while the other gets a bit of shopping done and then vice versa.

Of course, you’ll need everything to be in the same spot to make this possible, so we suggest heading to our favourite one-stop-shop, the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

It has got everything you need to complete your Christmas shopping in no time – you’ve got Easons or Dubray for books, Penneys for clothes and Claires for stocking fillers, Schuh for shoes, Life Style Sports for gifts for your little sporty ones, L’Occitane for mum’s annual gift hamper, Flying Tiger, Art and Hobby, Stradavarius, Dyson, The Carphone Warehouse, Argos, the list goes on. No matter what Christmas gifts you’re looking for, chances are they’ll have plenty of options for you.

Of course, now there’s the matter of distracting the kids. Easy, again. Mr Claus has arrived at Liffey Valley’s very own grotto, Santa’s Foundry, and he is receiving guests every day until Christmas Eve. It’s not just Santa you see at the Foundry – the little ones will also get to take a walk in the beautiful Christmas garden, meet Mrs Claus, and see how the elves make the presents. They can even write and post their letters to Santa there if they haven’t already.

If the kids are all Christmassed out, why not take them to Jump Zone where they can let allllllll of that energy out (think early bedtime and quiet evenings, oh yes!). Then for something a bit more relaxed, you can bring them to Liffey Valley’s cinema which, you may know, is the biggest cinema in Ireland. We think a Christmas movie is in order!

If you all get hungry, there’s no shortage of snacks, lunch spots, or dinner restaurants to fill your tummy. It’s really got everything.

Just think – one family day out could have you well and truly sorted for Christmas. Then it’s time to sit back, relax, and help yourself to one of those freshly baked Christmas bickies.
