Move over Jamie, there’s a new chef in town and he’s soooo cute! The latest addition to the Oliver clan, 4-month-old River, made his TV debut alongside his family in his dad Jamie’s Christmas TV show.
Jamie’s Ultimate Christmas featured baby River alongside Jamie and Jools Oliver and their other children Poppy (14), Daisy (13), Petal (7) and Buddy (6), as well as grandparents Trevor and Sally.
The family were seen enjoying some Christmas food, playing games and telling jokes. The new programme featured chef Jamie cooking his ultimate Christmas recipes – the ones the dad of five says he’ll be serving to the family on the big day this year.
The popular programme, shown on Channel 4 on Monday night featured recipes that Jamie calls ‘the three foundations of Christmas’: basically turkey, gravy and roast potatoes. He reckons that dinner guests will forgive any mistakes as long as the turkey’s succulent, the gravy’s tasty, and the spuds are perfect. He also cooked up some Brussels sprouts (controversial) with chorizo and chestnuts. There was also Gravadlax, steeped in a beetroot, horseradish and vodka marinade for starters.
Jamie’s fantastic alternative to traditional Christmas pud – a super-gooey chocolate pot – was almost as edible as little River’s chubby cheeks. Ah lookit! Bless.
