“Great to have a happy ending!”

The holidays have come early for one little girl after she was reunited with the teddy bear she accidentally donated.

A nationwide hunt for the cuddly toy was first launched after St Vincent de Paul shared the story on Facebook.

They recalled how a four-year-old girl came in to donate three bags of toys to the shop in Kilkenny last week.

But she was left heartbroken when she found she accidentally put her favourite teddy into one of the bags.

In a post on Wednesday, the charity explained that the toy had since been purchased and they were hoping to track it down.

But earlier today, they confirmed on social media that little Lara’s stuffed toy had been found.

They said on Facebook:

“The little girl who donated toys and accidentily included her favourite teddy has got it back!

“A very kind customer who purchased it returned and the mum has just collected it.

“Thank you so so much to everyone who helped spread the word and helped in reuniting the two.

“Also to the shop staff who really worked hard at putting the word out.

“Great to have a happy ending!”

After the extensive bear search over social media, the duo were finally reunited when Lara’s mum came to pick up the teddy.
