This little lady and her pup are the absolute definition of friendship goals

Utterly adorable.

Prepare to have your heartstrings pulled.

Perhaps it’s because both of them seem to enjoy a slow stroll – maybe it’s because the two boast similar chilled out personalities. Whatever it is, the happy duo sure look like the very best of friends.

Great Dane, Echo, and her 17-month-old human sister Jennie are clearly inseparable.

The family, who live in Niagra Falls, New York, rescued Echo after her previous owner threatened to put her to sleep simply because she is deaf. Thankfully, Jennie’s mum Marion Dwyer, took in Echo and by doing so, saved her little girl’s soon-to-be best friend and all-round protector.

Jennie who has known Echo since she was born communicates with her visually impaired and hard of hearing pal through sign language.

According to the Daily Mail, mum Marion says,

“Echo certainly does look out for her sister Jennie and always makes sure no one gets too close to her.”

“She loves people and will put herself in front of Jennie to be pet first. If a stranger with a dog approaches she will stand or sit in front of Jennie to shield her, but not showing any aggression – just making sure she’s safe.”

We just can’t stop cooing over these gorgeous photos, and could they be any more adorable? We think not!
