The DSPCA is looking for information after a dog was abandoned on the M50 yesterday.

According to Newstalk, a woman seen a car stopping near the Red Cow junction on the motorway, and then driving off, leaving the dog behind.

She picked up the abandoned dog and brought her straight to the DSPCA.

The DSPCA called her Tina and said she is young and in good health.

Gillian Bird is head of education and media at the DSPCA said:

“Dumping a dog in any location is illegal but to do it on a busy motorway is incredibly dangerous.

“Not only could the dog have been seriously injured or even killed, but it could have caused a serious accident and put human lives at risk.”

The DSPCA is now seeking help from the public, and is calling out for anyone who knows anything about the dog to come forward.

“We would love to know more about her such as her real name, age and any health issues if she is owned, but if she is a stray we would love the owners to come and collect her.”

If Tina is not collected by her owners in 5 days, she will be rehomed.
